Airbus H125 (Esquilo) price: what it costs new and used

Airbus does not publish an H125 price list. Across public listings with a price, the median asking price for the Esquilo family is $2.2 million (11 of 89 listings), and the RAB has 303 in operation.

The H125 is the current name of the Esquilo (AS350 Écureuil), the single-turbine helicopter that Airbus Helicopters builds on a production line and that Helibras manufactures in Itajubá (MG) (AIN, Aug 2024). The price question has three different answers: new, which Airbus does not publish in a price list; used, which is read from listings; and what the Brazilian registry shows about how many exist and how old they are.

Across the public listings that Jet Tracker monitors, the median asking price for the Esquilo family (AS350 B2, B3, B3e and H125) is $2.2 million, from $785K to $3.87 million, but only 11 of 89 listings publish a price. In the RAB (Brazil's civil aircraft registry), Jet Tracker's executive segment counts 303 in operation, the largest helicopter group in the segment.

How much does a new Airbus H125 cost?

Airbus does not publish an H125 price list, and Jet Tracker has no list price verified against a manufacturer source. The Jet Tracker catalog carries two references for a new H125 that do not match: $3.5 million on the model sheet and $3.3 million in the acquisition note (Airbus Helicopters, Q2 2025, B3e configuration for Latin America, according to the note itself). These are catalog estimates, with no manufacturer document confirming them. Treat the $3.3 million to $3.5 million range as an order of magnitude, never as a quote.

What is observable is the asking price. Among the 16 listings of the family from 2025 onward, only one publishes a price: $3.87 million (Jet Tracker, public listings monitored, queried Oct 12, 2026). A sample of one listing does not make a market: it only shows that a new, equipped aircraft goes past the references above.

Buyers in Brazil should also consider what changes when the aircraft is imported: the guide how much does it cost to import an aircraft details the math. On local manufacturing, Helibras operates one H125 line and one H225 line in Itajubá (AIN, Aug 2024); the price of an H125 off that line is not public.

How much does a used H125 or Esquilo cost?

Jet Tracker monitors public listings worldwide. On Oct 12, 2026, the Esquilo family had 89 active listings, and only 11 published a price. It is the asking price, not a sale value, and most sellers prefer not to publish. The sample is small: use the reading as an indication, not as a price list.

Source: Jet Tracker, public listings monitored worldwide, direct query to the database on Oct 12, 2026, one record per aircraft. The count per range may differ by one or two listings from the monitor total above. In three of the five ranges there are fewer than six prices: read the progression (newer, more expensive) as a direction, not as the market value of each year.

In Brazil, the sample is smaller still: 24 Esquilo listings, only one with a published price, at $2.2 million (Jet Tracker, same query). With one price, there is no Brazilian median worth reading. For a specific figure, the Jet Tracker aircraft valuation tool starts from the registration, cross-references comparable listings of the same model and returns an estimated range (an estimate, not an appraisal) with the comparables in plain view.

Jet Tracker also publishes the model's price series on the H125 market tab, with the listings opened one by one.

What is the difference between the AS350 B2, B3 and H125?

The Esquilo is a family, not a single model, and the asking price changes a lot with the generation. The H125 is the in-production version of the Esquilo, the evolution of the AS350 B3e, with a Safran Arriel 2D engine of 952 shp at takeoff (Safran and Airbus). The AS350 B2 is the earlier generation, with an Arriel 1D1 engine (Safran). The B3 sits in the middle, with a more powerful engine than the B2's.

H125 sheet in the catalog: cruise speed of 136 knots, range of 340 nautical miles (Airbus Helicopters, H125 FAQ), up to seven occupants on board (one pilot and up to six passengers, according to Airbus) and a maximum takeoff weight of 2,370 kg with the optional dual hydraulic system.

How many Esquilos fly in Brazil?

According to the RAB synced on Oct 11, 2026, Jet Tracker's executive segment counted 303 Esquilos in operation (360 counting reserved registrations and suspended ones). It is the largest helicopter group in the segment, ahead of the Robinson R66 (271) and the Robinson R44 (172). The Esquilo assembled in the early years by Helibras (HB350) is cataloged separately, with 14 in operation.

Source: Jet Tracker, RAB (ANAC, Brazil's civil aviation authority), executive segment, queried Oct 12, 2026 (two records with no year of manufacture are left out of the table). The average age of the living fleet is 19.3 years, and 246 of the 303 have a year of manufacture through 2014.

By regime, 215 are under RBAC 91 (private use) and 88 under RBAC 135 (air charter), against 28 and 10 under RBAC 135 for the R44 and the R66. The RAB does not distinguish agricultural, utility or executive use within the regime. By the owner's state (UF) in the registry, the most common are São Paulo (108), Minas Gerais (29), Rio de Janeiro (29), Goiás (18), Paraná (15) and Distrito Federal (14). The RAB does not publish where the aircraft is based.

How much does it cost to operate an H125 per hour?

Jet Tracker's cost engine (version canonical-2026-09, 400 hours per year) estimates the H125 at $707 per hour in variable cost and $205,850 per year in fixed cost, which comes to about $1,222 per hour in total. These are catalog estimates, the same ones as in the H125 cost sheet, and not measured operating cost in Brazil.

Buying or chartering depends on the hours flown per year. In the Jet Tracker comparison tool (5-year horizon, opportunity rate of 12%, acquisition of $3.5 million and residual value of $2.85 million, charter at $2,500 per hour plus 12% positioning, catalog assumptions with no public source), the average cost per hour of an owned aircraft is $7,876 at 100 hours per year and $3,097 at 300 hours, against $2,800 per hour for charter in both cases. On those assumptions, the break-even point sits above 300 hours per year. It is an estimate to decide what to investigate, not a quote.

  • Hours and components. Two Esquilos from the same year can have very different asking prices. Ask for the report of total hours and remaining times on blades, gearboxes and engine before comparing prices.
  • Avionics and interior. An old panel and a work interior call for a discount or an upgrade quote. Jet Tracker has no established average upgrade price.
  • Documentation. Check the status in the registry (RAB) and a valid Airworthiness Verification Certificate (CVA). How to read the registry is covered in the RAB lookup guide.
